This course will start by studying citizens (citizens in the political system; are citizens qualified enough to be involved?), and then the political participation of ordinary citizens. The aim will then be to provide more in-depth insight into electors and elections (voting and non-voting; voting models: the classics), and to examine the world of political professionals (political careers and the social bases of representation; political parties: are they no longer relevant?), and finally to broaden the scope of reflection by addressing the State and public policies (public policies and their actors; ideas, agendas).
