Outward-looking classes are delivered by university lecturers from all over the world. They address specific topics, thus helping you to broaden your horizons, by allowing you to somewhat step outside the scope of the program, and to choose a topic that interests you. These classes can be conducted in French, but also in English, or in Spanish. Each year a list of several courses is distributed to third-year students so that they can make their selection at the beginning of the year and indicate the outward-looking course for which they wish to be assessed.

Instead of taking the Outward-looking course, a student may submit a request for validation of his/her engagement, on a voluntary or similar basis, in associative or professional activity.
For the outward-looking course, assessment might take the form of a written examination, or might be conducted on a continuous basis, depending on the lecturer, and in accordance with a timeframe laid down by the latter. No class can be made up.
The validation of the student engagement will be done in the form of a written report and under the conditions defined in the provisions of the charter relating to the recognition of the student engagement.
